Together We Grow
Together We Grow has a range of different garden programs aimed at improving the lives of our neighbors. We serve community members of all types from elementary school students to veterans. Scroll down and take a look at what we've got "growing" on!
Here We Grow Gardens
Operating out of our greenhouse, this program’s goal is to teach adults with disabilities how to maintain a greenhouse, plant and harvest vegetables, and other general vocational skills related to gardening. The ultimate aim of the program is to teach the participants how to become more self-sufficient, gain confidence and possible future employment in the industry.
Power of Plants School Gardens
This program consists of 2 divisions: (1) Newark Green Machine large scale composting program for middle and high school students, as well as Boys and Girls Club of Newark, teaching them the importance of recycling and composting, and (2) Elementary Gardening - for students in K-5. We teach the art of gardening and, that by doing this one simple thing, they can take control over their food insecurity...by themselves!
Victory Gardens for Veterans
This program is a place for veterans and their families to come spend time together, grow their own gardens, have picnics and do garden-related activities and crafts.
