Meet our Team
Pam Roberts has lived in Newark, with her husband Mike, since 2011. They have 4 children and 12 grandchildren. Pam and Mike founded Together We Grow in 2012. Pam has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration that she earned at the age of 50, and has a strong desire to help others after having her own share of difficulties growing up. Pam speaks to groups about Together We Grow, writes grants and is always busy recruiting volunteers and working hard to Grow Licking County One Garden At A Time! Pam is also a Friend of Together We Grow at the Grand Champion Pumpkin level.
Sarah Thomas, Originally from Pataskala, has lived in Newark, Ohio since 2010. Sarah has 10 years of experience in customer service and retail and 2 years of courses in Human Services from COTC-Newark. Sarah believes that gardening is good for the mind, body, and soul, and has a deep love for her community. She began as a volunteer for TWG in 2017 and now works with the purpose, as our Program Director, of carrying out the mission here at Together We Grow.
Kristen first learned about Together We Grow Gardens at our annual fall fundraising Gala. She is passionate about helping others become self-sufficient and decided to come on board with us to help us achieve our mission. Kristen looks forward to working with Together We Grow to bring the community together and help others.
Brooklynn Ballenger is 18 years old and a senior at Newark High School. She is in multiple choirs at school and is a member of the National Honor Society. She also has enjoyed dancing at Garrett Dance Arts for many years and volunteers regularly at her church. Brooke is working part-time with Together We Grow as an office assistant and is a great asset to the company!
Dan grew up in northwest Ohio, outside of Bowling Green. After graduating high school he headed south to attend the university of Miami in Florida where he earned a BA in business administration. Dan returned to Ohio to start his career in the food hospitality field before transitioning to manufacturing production management. He retired in April of 2019 after a 45 year career. While opening the Casa Lupita Mexican Restaurant on N. 21st street, Dan met his wife Julie. They have 3 grown children- Olivia, Maddie and Ian. Dan got involved with Together We Grow as a volunteer, helping maintain gardens and assisting in building the most recent garden at Everett Park. Currently Dan is getting the High Tunnel Ready for increased production in the spring of 2020.
