• Seasonal Garden Tending:

  • ​Prepare Garden beds for planting (March-April)​

  • Till and Weed Garden beds (March-April)

  • Plant Seeds (April-June)

  • Garden Clean up (August - October)

• Volunteer in our "Here we Grow Gardens" program at our greenhouse. (year round).  

• Help with a Class - we regularly host classes and workshops at Heritage Greenhouse and Community Gardens.

• Mentoring with Other Gardeners - We aim to help first time gardeners and gardening legends connect as buddies.

• Help students plant garden beds - Volunteers can help us teach students in our Power of Plants program at Newark City Schools.

Rent a garden bed (May - October):

Experience the joy of gardening. Plots include seeds & water. $10/ small bed, $25/ large bed.

Attend a U-Pick Event (July - September)

Enjoy picking your own fruits and vegetables at our community gardens. Free produce available to everyone who comes!
